Following in the footstep of the towns like Babylon, Town of Oyster Bay, NY is  taking its first steps as a  town  by converting 28,000  of its streetlights to state-of-the-art LEDs. LED streetlights will minimize light trespassing and dirt depreciation while making maintenance easier. They also provide a world of possibilities  for the town:  In the near future, O y ster Bay  will conduct a pilot project using  CityIQ™ nodes  to track car share programs and improve utility billing practices. Joseph S a ladino, a town supervisor in Syosset,  explains why the town chose  Current by GE products to light the roadways, the results they expect, and what’s next for Oyster Bay  as it moves toward becoming a smart city.
