Town of Oyster Bay, NY Chooses Current, powered by GE, for LED Streetlight Conversion Project

Following in the footstep of the towns like Babylon, Town of Oyster Bay, NY is taking its first steps as a town by converting 28,000 of its streetlights to state-of-the-art LEDs. LED streetlights will minimize light trespassing and dirt depreciation while making maintenance easier. They also provide a world of possibilities for the town: In the near future, Oyster Bay will conduct a pilot project using CityIQ™ nodes to track car share programs and improve utility billing practices.
